3 V 3 Rules of the Game

Field Dimensions: U-8 to U-9 is a 30x20 yard field. U-10 to U-18 is a 40x30 yard field.
No Offsides in 3v3 Soccer
Goal Scoring: A goal may only be scored from a team’s offensive half (cannot be touching the mid-line). If a player in their defensive end kicks the ball across the midline and the ball it’s another player (defensive or offensive) and the ball goes in the goal, a goal will be awarded.
The Goal Box: The goal box, 8x5’ and is directly in front of the goal. There is no ball contact allowed within the goal box, however, any player may pass through the box, but if when the player (defensive) is in the box and the ball touches them a goal will be awarded to the offensive team. If the ball should stop still in the box a goal kick will be awarded, regardless of who touched the ball last.
Game Duration: The games will be 12 minute halves separated by a 3 minute half time break or the team to reach 10 goals first. There are no time outs in 3v3 games.
Overtime: Will consist of two 3 minute “golden goal” overtime periods. The first team to score in either over time half is the winner. If there is no goals scored both teams will go into a shootout. The three players from each team remaining on the field at the end of the overtime will be designated to taking the penalty kicks. If the score remains tied after the first round of penalty kicks, another round will begin with the same three players. If a team has a red card and is playing with only 2 players an alternate player may step on and take the penalty kick.
Penalty Kicks: Shall be awarded if, in the referee’s opinion, a scoring opportunity was affected by an infraction (the infraction does not automatically result in a red card). It is a direct kick taken from the center of the midfield line with all players behind the mid-field line and the player taking the kick. This is a "dead-ball" kick. If a goal is not scored, the defense obtains possession with a goal kick.
Five Yard Rule: In all dead-ball situations, defending players must stand at least five yards away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal is closer than five yards, the ball shall be played five yards from the goal box, in line with the place of the penalty.
Kick-Ins: The ball shall be kicked into play from the sideline instead of thrown in. The ball is considered in play when the ball is touched with a foot and moves one full rotation
Goal Kicks: May by take anywhere on the end line.
Kick Offs. May be kick in any direction. Does not have to roll forward first.
Substitutions: Substitutions may be made at any dead ball situation, regardless of possession. Teams must get the referee’s attention and players are to enter and exit at mid-field.
Player Registration: All players must be registered on their team’s roster form before the tournament begins (player must be on roster before the first game). All team fees must be paid before the tournament or the team will be disqualified.
Number of Players: Six is the maximum number of players on a team; Three field players and Three substitutes (A team must have a minimum of 2 field players). There are no goalkeepers in 3-v-3 soccer.
Brackets/Divisions: If needed we will combine age groups in an appropriate manner to create a competitive atmosphere for all players.
Weather: If the tournament gets cancelled due to rain, lightning, or dust storm we will reschedule for the following weekend. No refunds will be given.
*** Note: If any of the rules are broken the team may be disqualified***
